We all
receive lots of annoying spam emails that choke our email accounts. Now with
Email Processor you can automatically detect and remove unsolicited messages
right from the mail server.
You only need
to set up a separate rule that will filter all your incoming messages, catch
unsolicited emails and remove them from your mail server.
If you used other rules to process incoming emails, you have
already set up a POP3 account to collect messages you receive. If you have no a
POP3 account yet, create it now.
Once you set up an account, you can create an anti spam rule:
1. Click icon on
the Toolbar. Enter a rule name, for example, Anti Spam. Check all the available
options. In the Accounts section check the POP3 account you created. Click OK.

2. Click a black down arrow next to your rule at the right
pane of the window and select Filters.
Now you will set up some filter conditions to catch spam emails. Select
Header/Body from
Filters menu

and do the following:
1) select a header field, for example, Subject.
2) in the String or Regular Expression
box enter a specific word or expression that may be met in the Subject line of a
spam email. For instance, viagra, porn, etc.
3) click Add.
4) check Field matches any of the words below
option.
5) click OK.

Perform this procedure to add other words or expressions that you can meet in
the subject, body or any other header field of a spam message. Here are a few
expressions from unsolicited emails we encountered that can help you to set up
the anti spam rule:
Subject - Permanently Slim Down
Subject - This Business Beats the Heck Out of Franchises
Subject - L0sing We1ght Successfully
Subject - Earn a Doctors income within a few short WEEKS
Subject - SEEKING YOUR IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE
Subject - I bet you spent your whole life making your boss rich
Subject - Provide Yourself With Smart Investment Tools
Subject - 100% Safe To Take, With No Side Effects
Subject - artists
Subject - Create DVDs in Your Own Home
Subject - WE NEED YOUR URGENT HELP
Subject - 17th century Masters
Body - DEAR FRIEND, etc.
To widen this list, the Inbox Explorer is very helpful.
Inbox Explorer allows you to view detailed
information about every incoming message. Inbox Explorer automatically retrieves
messages headers from the server and shows you a message details: Size, From,
Subject, To. Also, in the Inbox Explorer you are able to view what rules can be
applied to each message. See Inbox Explorer
Settings.
Thus, prior to receiving emails with your regular email
client, it is recommended that you run Inbox Explorer to see what emails came to
your email account. You can simply click Inbox Explorer, select the account to
retrieve incoming emails and you will see how many and what kind of emails are
now on your mail server. Click an email and see the message header and a part of
a message body. If you see a suspicious subject or inappropriate words in the
message body, you can simply copy them and add to your filters. You can also
save retrieved emails to a folder and then load them into Email Processor for
debugging your rule.

With time your anti spam filters will be enlarged with more
and more conditions to detect spam messages. So, you will only need to run the
anti spam rule before receiving email with your regular email client to be sure
that you will not pull down some rubbish. |
