Our Email Validation Software like any other email checker tool can determine about 70-90% of bad email addresses. Advanced Email Verifier connects to the email addresses mail server, as part of validation process, and asks if the user exists but NEVER send an email to the recipient. If the recipient’s server gives the response that the user exists, the Advanced Email Verifier marks the email address as good. If the mail server says that there is no such user, AEV marks the email address as bad. This means that the Advanced Email Verifier classifies the email address depending on the response of the recipient’s mail server.

But some mail servers are configured so that they always give the response that the user exists. This means that you may get a number of false positive results and may receive bounced emails after you sent the message to the email addresses determined as good by the Advanced Email Verifier. To process bounced emails, you can use the Bounced Manager module in the Advanced Email Verifier.

The accuracy of the verification depends on:

- whether or not your IP address is listed in blacklists;

- whether or not the computer where the Advanced Email Verifier is installed has properly setup authentication records such as FCrDNS and PTR records.

If you use the Advanced Email Verifier on a computer which IP address is blacklisted and/or which has no proper authentication records, you should not expect accurate verification results.

The best practice of using the Advanced Email Verifier is:

1. Verify your list and delete "Bad" email addresses from it. 

2. Save all other types of emails such as Good, Unknown, Timeout, and Greylisted to a file. You can see the explanation of email verification results here.

3. Send the message to Good, Unknown, Timeout, and Greylisted email addresses.

4. After the email is sent (in a few hours or on the next day) run the Bounced Manager in the Advanced Email Verifier to process bounced emails and save bounced emails to a file.

5. Delete bounced emails from your list.
 

To delete bounced emails from your list:

1. Create a new list in the Advanced Email Verifier under My Lists.

2. Load bounced emails into the new list.

3. Click the right mouse button on the list with bounced emails.

4. Select “Delete [Bounced] emails from” and then select your main list.

You can run the Advanced Email Verifier to process bounced emails during 3-5 days after you send your email campaign because bounced emails may arrive within 3-5 days.

The main factors affecting email open rate are the sender, Subject, frequency, sending date/time and the nature of the message. Personal messages get a higher attention, followed by timely news. Using the Unsubscribe Link Provided by Email Tracking Service 

G-Lock EasyMail is integrated with the email tracking service called G-Lock Analytics. In addition to tracking email opens and link clicks, G-Lock Analytics allows you insert the unsubscribe link into your emails and collect the email addresses of the recipients who unsubscribed.

Adding the Unsubscribe Link to the Email

Follow the steps below to add the unsubscribe link to your email:

Signup with G-Lock Analytics.

Login to your account. 

Download the redirect script (used to generate tracking links) and upload the redirect script to your website.

Open G-Lock EasyMail.

Go to Home -> Settings -> G-Lock Analytics.

Enter your G-Lock Analytics login email and password.

Click Test.

Click OK.

Create an email message or open a draft or template in the Edit Message window.

Click on G-Lock Analytics tab on the Edit Message window.

Click on "Enable Tracking".

Click on "Add New Campaign". 

Fill in the fields and click "Add".

Select the campaign name in the "Campaign" field.

Put the mouse at the place where you want to add the unsubscribe link.

Click on "Click to insert Unsubscribe Link". 

Click on the "Text Part" tab at the bottom of the "Edit Message" window, put the mouse at the place where the unsubscribe link must be added and click on "Click to insert Unsubscribe Link" again.

The unsubscribe link will be inserted in this format:

http://www.glocksoft.com/r.php?u/18n/%%EncodedEmailAnalytics%%

where %%EncodedEmailAnalytics%% is the encrypted recipient's email address that will be merged during the sending process.

Click on the Message menu and then click Send.

Deleting Unsubscribed Recipients from the List

The email addresses of the recipients whio unsubscribed will be collected in your account on G-Lock Analytics under "Unsubscribed Recipients". To delete these recipients from your groups in G-Lock EasyMail: 

Open G-Lock EasyMail address book.

Click on G-Lock Analytics tab.

Click Login to login to your account.

Select the campaign and click on "Who Unsubscribed". 

Select "Save to File" (to add unsubscribed recipients to the exclusion list in G-Lock EasyMail address book, select "Add to [group name] Exclusion List").  

Click on the Home menu.

Click on the group name.

Click on the "Email List" menu.

Select "Remove from current group" option (or select "Remove from all groups" to delete unsubscribed recipients from all groups).

Select the file with the unsubscribe emails.

Click Open.

G-Lock EasyMail will delete the email addresses of the unsubscribed recipients from the group(s).

Using the "Mailto:" Unsubscribe Link

If you do not want to invest into the email tracking service, there is the alternate method — you can use the unsubscribe URL linked to an email address.

It's recommended that you setup a special email account destined to received bounced eamils only, for example, bounce@yourdomain.com.

Below is a sample text with the unsubscribe link that you can put somewhere in your email:

%%Email%% is the field that stores the recipient's email address in G-Lock EasyMail address book. If this field is called differently in your group, merge the right field name into the unsusbcribe link.

When a recipient clicks on the above link, he will be prompted to send an email with the "Take me off" subject to you. The recipient's email address that needs to be unsubscribed will be put in the message body.
